Holiday Villas is a small, privately owned company managing a dozen, or so, holiday properties in and around Benalmádena, on Spain’s costa del Sol.

I was approached by the company and asked to update their rather old website. They already had a good customer base, but were, as we all are, looking to expand.
I was delighted to help. They supplied a lot of oroiginal content, including excellent quality photos and text, taken/written by the owner. That’s always a great start to any website.
I used an ‘off-the-shelf’ theme as a basis for the job, then edited and amended it to suit the purpose.

Holiday Home Advertising
I always recommend marketing and advertising after a new website is built. On this occasion, the client decided to handle their own advertising, but asked me to maintain their position in SERPS with the Google Search Console. There was a time when Google simply indexed web pages, without any work needed. Those days are sadly gone. Now, we need to submit pages to Google individually to make sure they are indexed properly.
It’s a bit of a pain, but it’s important.
Website Build
I used WordPress for the job, with some custom PHP scripts to display some details of each property. A reasonably straight-forward job, it was complete in roughly three weeks. Traffic numbers were difficult to compare, as no analytics software was installed prior to the update, however, after speaking to the client some weeks later, it’s fair to say that number of enquiries had gone up.
That’s always good to hear.
