About FreeAssortment

About FreeAssortment.net.  My name is Ian Stewart, I am a freelance web developer and website builder, living in the beautiful town of Kenmare in County Kerry.

I have been working with the internet since the very early dates, back in the early nineties.  Of course, things were a little different back then.  Compared to today’s standards, website were very simple things back then and that’s when I honed my skills with HTML.  Since then, I’ve been developing websites and web applications in PHP, and more recently, with WordPress and WooCommerce.

Alongside the website, I also create and maintain digital marketing campaigns on Facebook and with Google Ads.

I currently maintain two major clients – oceanohotel.com and yorkshirelinen.es – and a number of smaller businesses.  By ‘major’, I mean these are clients with constant, often daily, attention.  This work is a combination of advertising, mostly Facebook for El Oceano and product updates for Yorkshire Linen.

    Websites for Business

Websites have become an essential part of marketing almost any business. Be it a small, local service or a larger e-commerce venture, your website is generally the most viewed aspect of your company’s public face.

The race to the top of Google’s list is a frequent concern and, while not always possible, it’s important to do as much as possible to be ahead of the pack. Your competition is there, you should be too!

Also, without a website, people may question your legitimacy as a business. This sounds – and is – unfair, but with practically all of us now online, the ability to search for anything has become almost ubiquitous.

Having a website is an opportunity to make a great first impression and give your potential customers, clients or guests comfort that you’re a real business. Showcasing your brand to your prospective customers is one of the most important things any business can do.

E-commerce Solutions for Business – Start Selling Online

E-commerce typically involves the use of a website or mobile app to browse and purchase products, as well as electronic payment methods such as credit cards and online banking to complete transactions. E-commerce has become increasingly popular in recent years, with many businesses now relying on it as a primary revenue source.

With the rise of e-commerce, businesses have been able to reach a wider audience and increase their revenue. E-commerce has made it easier for customers to purchase goods and services online. It has also enabled businesses to reduce their overhead costs and improve their efficiency.

Content & SEO – the Backbone of Any Webpage

There’s a often heard mantra in the internet industry, “Content is king”.  It’s absolutely true.  ‘Content’ can refer to any number of creative elements, but for web pages, mostly refers to text, or ‘copy’.  The text you display on your website has a huge impact on how the search engines see you and, more importantly, how they ‘rank’ your website in their listings.

When I put together a new website, I always ask clients to write as much as they can about their business.  There are two reasons for this: a. you know your business a lot better than I do and b. your ‘voice’ is as distinctive as you are.  I am happy to write copy for clients, but it will always have my ‘voice’.  You business is far better represented by you, you know it and understand it far better than I ever will.

You may, as many clients often feel, think you’re not a writer.  That may be true and I understand, but that’s where my 30+ years of experience & skill with copy writing and text construction come in.  I take your original wording and edit it to fit a marketing need. I make it succinct and to make sure the search engines – notably Google – fully understand what you’re saying.
